Unfortunately the answer is No. Transat has overhead TV's that are in the middle of the aircraft and at the front of the bulkheads for selected passengers.

The link listed above doesn't say anything about 'seat back' TVs. In Canada, WestJet has seat back TVs with Bell's 'Live TV' Service and Air Canada on most of their fleet (but not all) has seat back TVs where you can chose which movie or show you want to watch.

This is not the case with Transat - they've got the central televisions and you don't get a choice of what movie they play. I flew on Transat last week and while the movies they offered were pretty good (Juno, The Bucket List, Golden Compass) the only choice you get is whether to watch it or not.

If you look at the seating plans of the aircraft at these links:
    http://www.airtransat.ca/en/A_310_300.asp
    http://www.airtransat.ca/en/A_330_200.asp
    http://www.airtransat.ca/en/A_330_300.asp

The Yellow Stars in the diagram indicate where the overhead TV screens are. If you know where you are sitting you'll have a better idea of how far away the TVs are.

Sorry I couldn't give you better news.
